I loved being a reviewer at the ASMP New England Portfolio review, two years in a row, discussing and critiquing the work of talented photographers.
It has been really fun promoting our book Horse Play! We were at the Williams College Market before the holidays with some fun Horse Play! activities for kids. I particularly loved going to the Heritage Farm Books in the Barn Horse Show. It was a really great event with riding, jumping, and arts & Crafts. And I loved checking out the Northshire Bookstore in Saratoga Springs NY during our book signing.
IN THE PRESS & AWARDS
My work for the Springfield Museums won two NEMA awards (New England Museum Association). And my work for Orion Magazine was honored with Awards from Utne Independent Press, The Society of Publication Designers, The Society of Illustrators, Print Magazine, and Supon's World's Best Publications Designs. I was also really proud of the ASME Awards (American Society of Magazine Editors) Wondertime Magazine received.
I'm really excited about the new book my friend Deanna Cook and I did together called Horse Play!
It's been so fun to see all the great feedback. Horse Play! was just selected to be included on Amazon's 2016 Holiday Toy List. It also popped up as one of Amazon's Best books of the month in June! Horse Play! was then selected as a GOLD AWARD WINNER by the Mom's Choice Awards! Nicole Blades of BLOGHER Is the nicest person ever, so I was thrilled to do a Q&A with her. Then I got this email: "We’re pleased to announce that Horse Play! 25 Crafts, Party Ideas & Activities for Horse-Crazy Kids has been named a National Parenting Product Award (NAPPA) winner!" Whoohoo!! I was also thankful for the lovely review Laura Falin wrote on BabyCenter, which they then shared on their facebook page too! CoolMomPicks is a great resource, so I was so happy when they included Horse Play! in their list of 13 Awesome, Affordable Gifts for Kids Who Love Horses just before the Kentucky Derby! And then they picked it AGAIN to be included in their roundup of The Best Activity Books for Summer Travel. Or Boredom. I loved the article because I have a lot of the other books Kate Etue recommended on the list, so we are in great company! Publisher's Weekly wrote up a nice little review too. And you never forget your first, ours popped up on NetGalley written by a woman named Melissa. Thanks so much!
